Eliza Conley-Lepene is the Founder, CEO and President of Safe House. Thriver of Violence with a Bachelors Degree in Justice, Advocacy and Psychology. She created both the crisis and recovery apps with the vision of getting people in crisis and recovery to a safer place sooner. Along side her team they have patented both apps, expanded the apps Nationally and launched them on the Google and Apple play stores. Eliza is a mom of two and has been a licensed massage therapist since 2007. She owns a Hawaiian themed spa in Kennebunk called Spa Voyage, is pursuing a life long dream of becoming a pilot and is a Graduate Student at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
Cathy Moore is the Safe House Vice President and Data Collection Chair. Cathy is a dog Mom(4), chicken Mom (7), and Mom to an amazing little girl. Cathy is a Pampered Chef Consultant and was the first virtual fundraising consultant for Safe House in 2020. Shortly after she became a volunteer, and it wasn’t before long she became one of the board of directors. Cathy spent an extensive amount of time on data collection and pushing the ball forward. Her tenacity and passion to get people to a safer place sooner had her voted in as Safe House’s Vice President August 2022.
Phoebe Caron; Secretary, is a full time homemaker, student, and mother of 3. She is a creative writer, survivor, working on completing her associates in social work with the goal of to becoming a case manager.
Karen Whitten, Board of Directors: Treasurer, showed her interest in volunteering for Safe House and it’s mission in the spring of 2019 and efficiently found her place as Treasurer for Safe House in the fall of 2019. As the officer responsible for the receipt & disbursement, overseeing and conducting accounting & auditory financials for Safe House. Having many years in the banking industry, this was a perfect fit. Karen is an experienced parent of 4. Her children are her pride and joy! As a result of her love of parenting she is a dedicated community volunteer. Karen’s dedication to volunteering shows in the work she has done over the years, such as holding the chair position of many Scholastic book fairs, spent several years as assistant coach for Middle school Football Cheering, several seasons as Team mom with football cheering as well as competition cheering, assisted with a local elementary food supplemental backpack program, secretary of PTO, helping conduct hearing/vision testing with the local Lions Club and offers a hand at her church and with lacrosse teams as time allows. Karen's day job is an office manager and is also an independent consultant for Tupperware. She has an equal love of hot sunny beach days & white snowy mountain adventures! She is an accomplished hiker of Mt Katahdins Knifes Edge and thrives in her life after her experience with domestic violence. Karen continues her work with Safe House to get those in crisis to a safer place sooner 💜
Shayna Gervais Board of Directors: Fundraising Chair, Fundraising Chair, is a full time Crew Leader for Piscatqua Landscaping, Owner of Enchanting Legacies, part time Dental Assistant Student, Zyia Activewear representative, Isagenix Representative, Younique Representative, Horse trainer, and last but never least Single Mother of eight. She works hard to maintain the work/life balance as a single Mom. She very much enjoys the outdoors and her job as a landscaper is the perfect therapeutic fit! As an entrepreneur she has the opportunity to meet new people and her position as the fundraising chair for safe house is the perfect place to put that into motion. After being homeless and completely lost after leaving her abusive situation she has completely regained everything lost/stolen from her during that time. She works hard to help others see that there is a way out, and the pot of gold is always at the end of the rainbow!
